Sacred Comfort Companion training is designed for those who feel called to companion others with presence, reverence, and practical, embodied care- particularly in times of suffering, transition, and the end of life. The training also encompasses learning the art of natural comfort care through various integrative practices: essential oils, sacred touch, music, breath & relaxation, rituals & ceremony, positioning for comfort. It is relational. and experiential— offered in a small-group setting so there is space for reflection, practice and integration. Level 1 is 8 weeks and is structured in a hybrid format, alternating weekly live Zoom instruction, with videotaped information and a 1 hour Q & A and ongoing mentoring during the training. Module 1— Foundations of Sacred Companioning Module 2— Death & Dying: A Sacred Transition Module 3— Practices of Sacred, Natural Comfort Care Module 4— The Companion in Action All participants begin with the same core Level 1 Companion Training (Completion Certificate). Those who feel called to professional or structured practice may choose the Level 2 Certification pathway. Level 2 Certification pathway includes 2 additional modules, monthly mentoring (for 4 additional months) with a requirement of 8-10 hours of documented practice hours. Level 1 is designed to be foundational, relational, and community-based. It is for loved ones, family, caregivers, faith communities and those seeking foundational training without professional intent. Level 2 is preparation for offering companioning as a professional or structured practice, including the ability to charge for services or develop an income stream. It is for professionals (healthcare, death care, social workers, chaplains, counselors, etc.) who are seeking to offer services in a professional setting or practice.
